Our history is closely linked to believes, tales and legends of ancient civilizations that walked the earth. Mythology gathers all these fantastic myths and stories, told for centuries.

Creatures which inspired this game are mentioned in many cultures and mythologies from all around the world.

We’ve studied all the imaginary stories of the last millenniums told in any places known to mankind. After a thorough research, we listed dozens of creatures stemming from different myths.

We eventually selected the most iconic and fantastic beasts we encountered in these legends. The depiction and the effect of the creatures in game are designed to fit as accurately as possible its description in its original myth.

A meticulous work has been done on the graphic design of the cards. We wanted it to be thin and detailled yet perfectly legible.

But the harmonious proportions of the cards may not be entirely due to chance.

Indeed, the elements that compose the cards respect the proportions of the GOLDEN RATIO!

For centuries the golden ratio, also refered to as divine proportion, was surrounded by a mystical aura.

Since antiquity it is used in geometry and is then found in natural sciences, in the proportions of the human body or in arts as painting or architecture. Two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities. In other words, it is the ratio between two lenghts such as : (a + b)/a = a/b. The a/b ratio is the golden ratio, written : φ.

SACRED GEOMETRY AND DIVINE PROPORTION

In the dimensions of the cards the golden ratio (φ) is applied to the lenght (A) and the width (B).

The location of the central circle is also calibrated on the golden number.

Illustrations of the mythological creatures are true to the descriptions from written tales and oral traditions we studied.
